Donna Edge is a CPA with an entrepreneurial spirit. As a child, she loved creating businesses, but truth be told, never imagined being an “adult” entrepreneur. After getting her accounting degree, she worked for small firms before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. During her years at home, she volunteered as a Money Coach with Crown Financial Ministries and started a part-time Budgeting Coach business. After her youngest started school, she started a bookkeeping business and also buckled down and passed the CPA exam after being out of school for 14 years. Her bookkeeping business grew into a traditional brick and mortar CPA firm. She acquired another CPA firm and her husband joined her in the firm. That firm grew for 6 more years and they successfully sold it so she could focus on coaching.
GAs a CPA, she is in a unique position to help business owners in areas that traditional coaches do not have the expertise in. Her passion is helping business owners understand all aspects of business ownership (including the dreaded taxes and financials) so they can move forward in their business with confidence. Sadly, so many business owners don’t know what they don’t know when it comes to owning a business and it is costing them time, money and causing overwhelm. She named her coaching business Business Harmony LLC because her goal is to bring harmony back into the life of busy entrepreneurs.
"I'm a good listener and take time to listen to others. I can also explain complex business situations in a way that owners can understand.
My passion is helping people, especially other small business owners. I have over 12 years of experience as a small business owner (I started a CPA firm from the corner of my bedroom, grew it organically, acquired another firm, grew some more, and then successfully sold the firm). I sold the brick and mortar CPA firm so I could focus solely on sharing everything I've learned as a business owner myself and as a CPA who has helped numerous other business owners. Being a coach for this program is the perfect platform to share my knowledge and experience. Entrepreneurs signing up for this program are obviously very serious about growing their business and learning all they can to be better/stronger Entrepreneurs.
As a CPA, I can provide additional guidance on the tax and financial side of owning a business, which so many business owners do not understand. I have been told over and over by clients that I am very good at explaining the technical side of things in a way that they can truly understand. I also have a coaching platform in place that gives me so many resources to use to help others, including with the marketing side of business ownership. I am also a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program (cohort 30), So I’ve been on the other side as well and been mentored/coached by others that served in the same capacity as coaches in the THRIVE program.
As a CPA, I've coached/mentored numerous business owners over the past 12+ years. I've also been a part of several MasterMind groups and networking groups that required me to step up and mentor members.
