In early March 2021, she assisted small businesses through COVID-19 relief programs. Her thousands of hours of one-on-one coaching helped business owners revise their business plans and pivot to create new marketing strategies. In 2022, she was selected to join the SBA THRIVE Emerging Leaders Reimagined as the business coach for St. George, Utah, and Boise, Idaho cohorts.

Originally part of the team that opened The Leonardo and The Museum of Natural History. Her training as an exhibit designer, instructor, and public programs developer provides a wealth of knowledge. She has received training through MIT's Playful Invention and Exploration (PIE) project at The Exploratorium in San Francisco, Institute of Design at Stanford. Talia continues to use her skills as a trained curriculum writer. She develops programming for the SBDC, conferences, private organizations, non-profits, clubs, city economic development departments, and museums.

My Top 3 Values as a Business Owner:

My company's values are:
1. Inclusive - - We are inclusive, as we believe meaningful impact comes through embracing the power of diverse minds.

2. Educators -We are educators, providing learning experiences that can elevate social and economic conditions.
Building my business being motivated by purpose and a clear understanding of why a business does what it does.

3. Engaged - We are engaged, as we understand "to be the change" means to be part of the solution. Business resources have remained stagnant and slow at adapting to rapidly changing demographics.
My leadership, services, and engagement in the community are clear by who I work with, how I adapt to meet the specific needs of diverse groups, and the commitment I have to be a lifelong learner.

I am also coming from like experience as my audience; I am a minority woman who owns a business. I wake up at night worried, just like my clients do. I, to experience microaggressions and work to use communication and critical thinking skills to advocate for all people.

How do participants benefit from having you as their SBA T.H.R.I.V.E. Coach?

I have a warm personality and can connect with my audience easily. I do thrive whenever I have one-on-one office time or coaching with my students. In addition, I can adjust quickly and have a practical, actionable approach to the materials I present.

My Experience in Coaching & Mentoring Entrepreneurs

I have worked with 100s of business owners through my own company, contracted with the Women's Business Center, and as a business consultant with the SBDC.
My company is committed to building equity, advocating for, and promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of business and life. One avenue that I use to fulfill that commitment is my instruction and coaching with English Language Learners (ELLs)
The limitation of coaches that do what I do has required me to work with experts in their fields to break down business concepts and develop the curriculum to instruct. Topics I work on range from how to start a business, finance, marketing, branding, grant writing, human resource, funding, managing people, and leadership skills.
